I am a board-certified psychiatrist and psychoanalyst in private practice in Portland, Oregon. I offer an integrative approach to understanding an individual's inner experiences, life history, and biology. I am interested in consulting on a wide variety of emotional issues, including but not limited to struggles related to pregnancy, post-partum, and parenthood; issues affecting healthcare professionals; and impacts of race, gender, and sexual identity on personal development. I work collaboratively with my clients toward understanding, change, and creativity.
My services include individual psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and psychiatric diagnostic and medication consultation. I typically work with clients in depth, meeting once weekly or more frequently for psychotherapy. Psychoanalysis typically involves meeting 3-5 times a week. I also offer psychoanalytic second opinion consultations for clinician-patient dyads looking to understand stalled or stuck treatments.
Currently, I am an in-network provider with Regence, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Moda Health. I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurance coverage. Please call to inquire about my current fees and availability.
If you are interested in starting treatment together, please contact me to set up a 10-15 minute phone conversation to discuss what you are seeking. All patients are welcome.
Professional Consultation: I offer private clinical consultation/supervision for clinicians interested in deepening their work through a psychoanalytic gaze, including for those in graduate and post-graduate psychotherapy or psychiatric training. I also am available for individual or group consultation and didactic/seminar presentations from a psychoanalytic perspective, even (and especially) for those working in other clinical modalities or working in fields of academia, management, writing, film, and other creative arts.
